To invest in fine art, and not wake up with a hangover, you need the help of an art expert.
A Fine art expert should be able to help somebody to build a fine art collection.
Does he have the experience of buying artworks?
Does he have the experience of auctions and the "after-sales" ?. The after-sales are very common all over the world
Does he have the experience necessary to discern the quality?
Does he have the experience to guess what will sell at higher prices?

Buying fine art requires experience.
If you buy from a gallery exhibiting a painter named X: the expert needs to have the skills to negotiate the prices down.
The sale price of an artwork in a gallery usually reflects 50% of it for the gallery and 50 % of it for the artist.
If you buy art from an auction, you need to have the best relationship with the auction house to know the provenance, the hidden problems with the artwork. Art experts familiar to the auction house, or experts with a valid CV will receive this information immediately.
If you buy from a collector, the expert needs to know if the seller is aware of the real value of an item.
The expert needs to have the experience for discerning a chapel ( a chapel is a house or condo where some merchants displaying their merchandise difficult to sell in their gallery).
